Google Adsense Click Fraud – What it is and How to prevent yourself from being accused of it.

Adsense is no doubt one of the great earning opportunities available on internet. But one day you may face a situation where you may get banned from the Adsense program forever. Many Adsense Publishers have faced this problem – some getting out of it, others not. Google adsense click fraud is the worst accusation to be up against.

Google adsense click fraud - take care.Below is a list of things you should always keep in mind, if you don’t want your name to be considered for the Adsense Black list, so getting your Google Adsense account banned.

Don’t click on your own ads

Some times you may see ads appearing on your sites that are very interesting and some people tend to click on the ads to reach the targeted sites. But doing so will cause your account to be suspended by Google Adsense. This is because Google keeps track of the IP address of the computer from which you have registered your Adsense account. If Google finds that someone has clicked on an ad from the same IP then you are in for big trouble.

Since it costs the bid amount to advertisers when someone clicks on their ads but then after spending money they don’t get targeted visitors to their site, Google thinks the click generated was intentional. I am again reminding you to not do it.

You may mistakenly or accidentally click on your ads at some time. Do one thing; prior to receiving an email from Adsense, drop an email to them stating the true scenario with an apology.

Don’t log in to your Google Adsense account from a shared computer.

Never use any other computer than your personal one to check your Google Adsense account because if you do that then someone else might click on your ads from same IP. Google may then consider that as adsense click fraud and then penalize you for it. Remember that Google keeps track of each IP address you have used for Adsense account checking.

Receiving clicks from illegal traffic

Check the Adsense TOS for sources of traffic that aren’t allowed by Google. These include methods like Traffic exchange, PTC advertising, Auto surf etc.

Monitor your visitor and Adsense figures

Check your account at least once a day. If you see a massive spike coupled with a massive increase in Page CTR investigate using your visitor stats website. If you see it’s all come from the same IP address you could have been the victim of a malicious attack – inform Google Adsense via email and offer them access to your logs.

Don’t log in to your Adsense account from your work place.

Some times you may want to check your Adsense account from your work place but it can be harmful to you. Many companies use a Proxy server with one IP address. That means if your company has 500 employees and all have an internet connection then the IP addresses of all will be that of the proxy server and Google can’t differentiate between you and the other 499 computers; they think of all the computers as one. If any one of them clicks on your ad then you may get banned due to adsense click fraud.

Don’t get involved in exchange click scenario

Exchange click scenario is another case for getting banned from Google. Some publishers get involved in one to one click scenario. This is where they tell others to click on their ad and in turn they click on the others ad. If Google see these IP addresses consistently clicking on each others ads then its goodbye to both of you.

Never tell your friends and family about your Adsense website

<script type=”text/javascript”><!–
google_ad_client = “ca-pub-0236243079649752″;
/* uronlinebusinessrectangle */
google_ad_slot = “0467929434″;
google_ad_width = 336;
google_ad_height = 280;
//–>
</script>
<script type=”text/javascript”
src=”http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js”>
</script>

Never tell your friends or your family members about your Adsense website. I have found one of my friends getting banned from Google because he has generated 400 clicks on one website within 1-2 hrs. You must be thinking how he has generated that many clicks. One day my friend told his wife about his website which he uses to display Adsense ads and his wife did the rest of the work for him. It wasn’t helpful.

By keeping the entire above scenarios in mind, you can save yourself from getting involved in Adsense Click Fraud. This will help you to keep your relationship with Adsense in good order by not getting involved in click fraud.
