Google Adsense has become one of the most popular programs on the web for webmasters to generate revenue. But sometimes you may see Google Public Service Ads on your website instead of genuine Adsense ads.
Why are these ads displayed?

- Try to develop rich content pages and if you have insufficient content then never put ads on those pages.
- Use Meta tags like keywords, description, title and heading tags like H1, H2…. According to the theme of your page. Mostly the Google crawler judges your content based on the title of your pages as well as content on your page.
- Create the content with at least 3 to 5 % keyword density. Repeat related keywords as many times within your content while still appearing natural. Don’t stuff these keywords unnecessarily otherwise it will be harmful from an SEO point of view.
- Try to keep your website content entirely focused on a particular theme, so that even if you have insufficient content on any of your pages, the ads will show.
- If you have less content rich pages then do not use more than one ad unit in a page.

Google Adsense also has features for removing these unappealling public service ads from your site
- When you select your ads (Adsense code) from Adsense, it provides you with three options: whether to show public service ads, fill color of your choice, or show other ads from any alternative programs you have joined. So if Google is unable to deliver the ads based on your theme it displays the ads of your choice or fills with the color of your choice.
So you can choose the other two options which you may feel suits your site to show on your pages instead of Google Public service ads.
