Adsense has become one of the most popular
programs on web for webmasters to generate revenue from
their websites. But sometimes you may see PSA’s ads
(Public Service Ads) on your site instead of genuine
ads.
Why these ads are displayed?
When Adsense crawler not able to find suitable ads
for your pages then they have no other options than
PSA ads to be displayed on your site.
You must remove these ads from appearing on
your site, but why?
There are many
factors for removing these types of ads from appearing
on your site:
- Most important factor is you don’t get paid when
some visitors click on these PSA’s ads. So even if
you get 1000’s of clicks on these ad you get paid
$0.
- When it appears on your site it gives your site
an ugly look, which many visitors considered it as
bad and they will never return back to your site.
Let’s face an example, suppose you have decided to
place 160 X 600 vertical banners to your site and
if no ad is shown then the PSA ads will appear with
big mono color fonts.

- Try to develop rich content pages and if you have
insufficient content then never put ads on those pages.
- Use Meta tags like keywords, description, title
and heading tags like H1, H2…. According to theme
of your page. Mostly Google crawler judge your content
based on Title of your pages as well as content on
your page.
- Create the content with at least 3 to 5 % keyword
density. Repeat related keywords in as many times
within your content in a normal ways. Don’t stuff
these keywords unnecessarily otherwise it will be
harmful from SEO point of view.
- Try to keep your website content entirely focused
on a particular theme, so that even if you have insufficient
content on any of your pages, the ads will show.
- If you have less content rich pages then do not
use more than one ad unit in a page.

Google Adsense also has features for removing these
ugly look PSA ads from your site
- When you select your ads (Adsense code) from Adsense,
it provide you with three option whether to show PSA
ads, fill color of your choice, or show other ads
from any alternative programs you have joined. So
if Google unable to deliver the ads based on your
theme it displays the ads of your choice or fills
with color of your choice.
So you can choose other two options which you may feel
which suits well for you site to show on your pages
instead of Public service ads.
