There are two types
of search engine optimization technique:
onpage SEO and offpage SEO.
Onpage optimization
is the stuff you do to your actual
web page. Offpage optimization means
stuff that isn’t on the page but it
involves process of getting one-way
link to your site to achieve high
Page Rank (PR) value. Both steps are
important. One onpage optimization
factor can boost your website ranking
tremendously. Steps require for doing
Onpage optimization includes:
-
Use only most important keyword in
the Page Title. Try to use least amount
of words in your title, Google will
give you more weight to each of the
keywords and you will rank well. Don’t
use words like “and”, “or” in the
title instead try to replace them
with “|”.
- Include header tags. Use at least
one keyword in h1 tag and another
in h2 tag. When Google reads your
web page it reads from top left hand
side to bottom right hand side of
the page.
-
Try to include your main keyword in
the content of the page two to three
times and also at the bottom of your
page.
- Try to bold, underline, or italicize
some of the keywords only one time
each, maximum. Only do one per keyword
otherwise it will hurt you more than
it helps.
-
When using an image on your webpage
try to include your keyword in the
<alt> tag in your html code.
- The most important
HTML tag for SEO is Description META
tag & Keyword Meta Tag.
<Meta name= “description” content=
“try to include maximum 250 words
in your description”>
<Meta name= “keyword” content=
“keyword, keyword phrase, not more
than 13 words should be included”>
You should also include:
<Meta name= “robots” content= “index,
follow”>
- The position of the keyword in
your webpage should be appropriate
as I have explained earlier; Google
read your page from top left to bottom
right. So you know where to place
it.
